The Coastal Observer App fosters citizen participation in monitoring weather and water conditions at a local level, assisting in the creation of a sustainable future pathway through valuable data collection.

Observing Weather Events: Through the application, observers can report stormy weather conditions, capturing essential information via photographs and notes.

Measuring Water Level: Users are encouraged to submit data from nearby water level gauges if available, ensuring safety precautions are followed when making observations during hazardous conditions.

Monitoring Water Quality: Manual observations using a Secchi Disk offer insights into water clarity, promoting awareness of environmental conditions.

Coastal Observer for Schools: Educational institutions can integrate the app into their curriculum to teach students how to read water levels and use tools like the Secchi Disk, fostering environmental consciousness while allowing students to express their thoughts on weather and water dynamics.

The project operates on the SPOTTERON Citizen Science platform, facilitating participatory research efforts and raising awareness about environmental issues.
